For travelers heading to Brantford, the Grand River city west of Hamilton. Use it to confirm Brantford rather than a Hamilton or Kitchener address, and to plan a run that leaves the lakeshore highway and heads inland on the 403.
This is the right page if
- You are visiting a home or business in Brantford or Brant County.
- You are a student, parent or visitor heading to the Laurier Brantford campus downtown.
- You are coming for the Bell Homestead, the Gretzky centre or a downtown event.
You may want a different page if
- You are heading to Hamilton, which is on the way and its own stop. See that page.
- You are going further to Kitchener and the Waterloo region. See that page.
What to know before you arrive
Brantford is the first of our Ontario routes that leaves the lake. Everything up to Hamilton follows the QEW along the shore; Brantford means turning inland on the 403 and heading west up the Grand River. That makes it a different kind of run from the lakeshore towns, and it is why the rate sits between the Hamilton and Kitchener pages rather than alongside Burlington and Oakville.
The downtown has changed with the university in it. Laurier Brantford is spread through the downtown core rather than sitting on a separate campus, so a student address might be a converted building on a downtown street rather than a residence hall on a quad. Give us the building or the street and we plan the drop from that.
Good to know
- The Bell Homestead National Historic Site in Brantford is where Alexander Graham Bell conducted his earliest North American experiments and invented the telephone in July 1874.
- The Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre includes four NHL sized ice rinks, a pool and a gymnasium, and houses the Brantford and Area Sports Hall of Recognition.
- Wilfrid Laurier University operates a campus in downtown Brantford, near the Sanderson Centre for the Performing Arts and the Woodland Cultural Centre.
- Wayne Gretzky was born in Brantford in 1961.
- From Buffalo Airport the route runs over the Peace Bridge, up the QEW to Hamilton, then inland on Highway 403 to Brantford.
How your trip works, step by step
- Book with the exact street address, or the campus building if you are heading to Laurier Brantford.
- Add your flight number so the pickup is planned from your actual landing.
- Your driver crosses at the Peace Bridge, with the first 35 minutes of border wait included, runs the QEW to Hamilton and turns inland on the 403.
- Drop-off is at the door, the campus or the venue you gave.
Trips we plan on this route
A parent flying in with a student names the downtown building and the luggage count, and the right vehicle is sent rather than guessed.
A visitor coming for the historic site gives it as the drop, and the driver takes the 403 exit for the homestead rather than the downtown.
A traveler visiting relatives outside the city gives the rural address, since Brant County addresses spread well beyond the city limits.
What to have ready when you book
- Exact street address, or the campus building or venue
- Flight number and landing time
- Luggage volume if you are moving into a student address
- Passenger count and any child seats
- Passports or accepted documents for the crossing
Questions specific to this trip
Is Brantford on the way to Toronto?
No. Brantford is inland to the west, up the 403 from Hamilton. It is a different direction from the Toronto and GTA routes, which continue along the lake.
Can you drop at the Laurier Brantford campus?
Yes. The campus is spread through the downtown rather than on a separate site, so name the building or the street and the driver drops you there directly.
Why is Brantford priced above Hamilton?
Because it is further. The route runs to Hamilton first and then continues inland on the 403, so the drive is longer than the lakeshore stop. The flat rate reflects that added distance.
How much is a shuttle from Buffalo Airport to Brantford, Ontario?
The flat rate is $360 per vehicle, one way from Buffalo Niagara International Airport (BUF). The price is confirmed before you book, with no surge pricing and no hidden charges.
How long is the ride from Buffalo Airport to Brantford, Ontario?
The drive is about 70 miles, about 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes, depending on the border crossing on the day you travel.
Do I need a passport to travel to Brantford, Ontario?
Yes. Every traveler crossing into Canada is responsible for carrying a valid passport or other accepted travel document. Requirements vary by citizenship and age, so check official government guidance before your trip.
Are there extra fees if the border is slow?
Your flat rate includes up to 35 minutes of border wait time. On the rare occasion a crossing runs longer, additional time is billed transparently at $35 per hour, with no hidden surcharges.
Can I take an Uber from Buffalo Airport to Brantford, Ontario?
Rideshare apps do not cross the US and Canada border, so an Uber or Lyft cannot complete this trip. A private cross-border shuttle like ours handles the entire route and the crossing.

Yes. Add your flight number to your booking and we track your arrival, adjusting pickup so your driver is ready when you land.
Is the ride to Brantford, Ontario private?
