Cross-border airport shuttle

Buffalo Airport Shuttle to Ridgeway, Ontario

Ridgeway is a historic Lake Erie shoreline community in the town of Fort Erie. We provide direct cross-border transportation from Buffalo Airport to homes, cottages and local businesses.

  • From Buffalo Airport (BUF)
  • 35 to 55 minutes
  • about 25 miles
  • US to Canada, both directions

For travelers whose address is in Ridgeway, the historic village on the Lake Erie shoreline inside the town of Fort Erie, rather than Fort Erie proper by the Peace Bridge. Use it to confirm Ridgeway is your stop and to give dispatch the exact street a village or cottage pickup needs.

This is the right page if

  • You are staying at a home, cottage or rental in Ridgeway or along Ridge Road.
  • You are visiting the Ridgeway battlefield site or the Fort Erie Historical Museum on Ridge Road.
  • You are a seasonal resident opening or closing a shoreline property and want a door drop-off.

You may want a different page if

  • Your address is in Fort Erie proper, near the Peace Bridge and the racetrack. That is a shorter, cheaper drive. See that page.
  • You are heading to the Crystal Beach shoreline just west of here. It is a separate stop on the same lakeshore. See that page.

What to know before you arrive

Ridgeway reads as a village rather than a resort. There is a walkable historic main street, and then the addresses spread out toward the lake and along the concession roads. A cottage on the shore and a house near the Ridge Road shops are both correctly called Ridgeway but are not the same pickup, which is why we ask for the street rather than the town.

This is a seasonal shoreline. Summer weekends fill the lakefront and the village, while winter runs are mostly residents and property owners. Neither changes the flat rate, but it does change how much buffer we build into a pickup, especially for an early departure when the shore roads have not been cleared yet.

Good to know

  • Ridgeway is a community within the town of Fort Erie, roughly five kilometres west of Fort Erie itself, on the Lake Erie shoreline.
  • The Battle of Ridgeway was fought on 2 June 1866 between Canadian militia volunteers and Fenian raiders based in the United States. It was the largest engagement of the Fenian Raids and the first industrial-era battle fought entirely by Canadian troops under Canadian officers.
  • Ridgeway Battlefield National Historic Site of Canada occupies a four hectare parcel of parkland in the community of Ridgeway.
  • The Fort Erie Historical Museum, which covers the Fenian Raid in the former Bertie Township, is located at 402 Ridge Road in Ridgeway.
  • From Buffalo Airport, Ridgeway is a short cross-border run over the Peace Bridge and then west along the Lake Erie shore, longer than Fort Erie but well inside an hour on a clear crossing.

How your trip works, step by step

  1. Book with the exact street address. Ridgeway runs from the village core out to scattered shoreline properties, and the two are different drives.
  2. Add your flight number. On a run this short the border crossing, not the mileage, is what moves your arrival time.
  3. Your driver takes the Peace Bridge, the closest crossing to the airport, with the first 35 minutes of border wait included.
  4. Drop-off is at the door, whether that is a village address, a cottage lane or the museum on Ridge Road.

Trips we plan on this route

Cottage opening in spring

A seasonal owner lands at BUF and books a door drop at a shoreline property, giving the lane name as well as the number because rural shore addresses are easy to miss.

Visiting the battlefield and museum

A visitor coming for the Fenian Raid sites gives the Ridge Road museum address and their return flight, so both legs are planned around the Peace Bridge.

Family visit in the village

A traveler staying with family in the village core books a straightforward door pickup and skips the rental counter for a trip of well under an hour.

What to have ready when you book

  • Exact street address in Ridgeway, including the lane or concession road if rural
  • Flight number and landing time
  • Whether your address is really Crystal Beach or Fort Erie instead
  • Passenger count and luggage, including any seasonal cargo
  • Passports or accepted documents for the Peace Bridge crossing

Questions specific to this trip

Is Ridgeway the same as Fort Erie?

Ridgeway sits inside the town of Fort Erie but is its own community about five kilometres west, on the lakeshore. The drive is longer than Fort Erie proper and priced separately, so give us the exact street and we confirm the right stop.

Can you find a cottage address on the shore?

Yes, and it goes more smoothly if you send the lane or concession road along with the number. Shoreline addresses are sparsely signed, so the extra detail saves your driver circling.

Which border crossing do you use for Ridgeway?

The Peace Bridge, which is the closest crossing to Buffalo Airport. From the Canadian side it is a straight run west along the shore. Your first 35 minutes of border wait is included in the flat rate.

How much is a shuttle from Buffalo Airport to Ridgeway, Ontario?

The flat rate is $105 per vehicle, one way from Buffalo Niagara International Airport (BUF). The price is confirmed before you book, with no surge pricing and no hidden charges.

How long is the ride from Buffalo Airport to Ridgeway, Ontario?

The drive is about 25 miles, about 35 to 55 minutes, depending on the border crossing on the day you travel.

Do I need a passport to travel to Ridgeway, Ontario?

Yes. Every traveler crossing into Canada is responsible for carrying a valid passport or other accepted travel document. Requirements vary by citizenship and age, so check official government guidance before your trip.

Are there extra fees if the border is slow?

Your flat rate includes up to 35 minutes of border wait time. On the rare occasion a crossing runs longer, additional time is billed transparently at $35 per hour, with no hidden surcharges.

Can I take an Uber from Buffalo Airport to Ridgeway, Ontario?

Rideshare apps do not cross the US and Canada border, so an Uber or Lyft cannot complete this trip. A private cross-border shuttle like ours handles the entire route and the crossing.

Will you track my flight if it is delayed?

Yes. Add your flight number to your booking and we track your arrival, adjusting pickup so your driver is ready when you land.

Is the ride to Ridgeway, Ontario private?

Yes. Every booking is a private vehicle for your group only. You are never placed in a shared ride or routed through other passengers’ stops.
